Hi! My name is Julia Zhu. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at San Diego State University.Â
I am an applied microeconomist. My research interests are in labor economics, economics of migration, and economics of education.
I have several lines of active research that investigate the causes and effects of high-skilled immigration, labor market institutions and inequality, local impacts of immigration enforcement policies, climate change and migration, and attitude formation towards immigrants and racial minorities.
Prior to joining SDSU, I was a postdoctoral fellow in labor economics in the Department of Economics and the FAIR Center at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). I received my PhD from Cornell University in 2022.
